I serve as Senior Lecturer and Director of the ASL program at Princeton University, where I teach courses in ASL, Deaf studies, and ASL literature. I'm also a Certified Deaf Interpreter and theatre interpreting consultant. I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Religion & Society at Princeton Theological Seminary, doing research in the areas of political theology and disability studies.
My work spans the classroom, stage, and screen—driven by a passion for critical theory, literature, theatre, and film. I've appeared in numerous theatre productions, performed poetry readings in festivals and venues across the country, and served as Director of Interpreters for Broadway shows.
Recent theater credits include u/s Jake/Tim in Off-Broadway Trash (Out of the Box Theatrics/PAC NYC), Dad in Songs for Hands on a Thursday (Prospect Musicals, Dr. Pomatter in Waitress (Deaf Broadway/Lincoln Center), and Edward Ferrars in a stage reading of Sense & Sensibility (Deaf West). I recently served as Director of Interpreters for King Lear (The Shed), Aladdin (Broadway), and Pirates! (Broadway). Other highlights include having one of my poems featured in an exhibit at the Guggenheim and winning Sign Slam, an international improv sign language poetry tournament hosted by ASL Slam at Bowery Poetry Club.
Whether translating, performing, or teaching, I'm drawn to sign language as a unique, beautiful, and powerful form of human expression.
